About First Person Lightning Roulette

First Person Lightning Roulette by Evolution Gaming is the third release in its First Person series. This concept redefines RNG roulette by merging it with First Person gameplay typically only experienced in live dealer games.

It’s a standard single-zero European Roulette game with all the usual Roulette bets but one key difference. The straight up bet payout is 30:1, however, every round comes with the possibility to win multiplied payouts of up to 500x on straight up bet wins with random Lucky Numbers and Lucky Payouts.

As you read in the introduction, this new title is based on the award-winning Lightning Roulette so aptly there’s an in-game portal through which you can go straight to the live dealer version of the game.

How to play First Person Lightning Roulette

Now that you’ve got an overview, let’s take a look at how to play First Person Lightning Roulette in practice.

You’ll be pleased to know that the objective of First Person Lightning Roulette is identical to any other roulette game—to correctly predict the number the ball will come to rest on. If you’re new to this type of live casino game, begin with our guide to roulette. It’s what any new player looking to master the game should do.

When betting time commences, you’re able to place your roulette bets as you typically would. What’s unique here, however, are the Lucky Payouts of up to 500x that are randomly selected and highlighted in the game’s user interface. If the lightning struck on the number that hits, you’ll win its respective payout.

First Person Lightning Roulette Special Features

There are three First Person Lightning Roulette special features, namely:

  • Instant result/STOP function: Press or tap this wheel at any time to stop the spin and show the result faster.
  • ‘REBET & SPIN’: This button appears as soon as the result of the spin is shown. Press it to repeat the bet you made in the previous round and immediately spin the wheel.
  • ‘2X DOUBLE & SPIN’: This option is also made available to you as soon as the round result is revealed. Click it to double your bet from the previous round and immediately spin the wheel.

First Person Lightning Roulette Game Rules

First Person Lightning Roulette game rules are mostly identical to those of standard roulette with a few exceptions. First, between one to five numbers will be chosen as Lucky Numbers before every round and Lucky Number winnings are only obtained by placing straight up bets. Keep those two differences in mind and you’re all set!

First Person Lightning Roulette Payouts and RTP

If you’ve played this game’s predecessor before you’ll immediately recognise that the First Person Lightning Roulette payouts and RTP are identical. Regardless, you’ll find them below.

Its RTP is 97.30% based on the optimal strategy for split, street, corner, line, and all outside bets while you’ll find the payouts listed in the table – first inside bets followed by outside ones. Remember that the payout for a straight up bet goes up to 500x if that multiplier is assigned to one of the Lucky Numbers and that number hits. Now, onto the payouts.

Don’t forget that any malfunction whilst you’re playing will void the round in question as well as all its eventual payouts.

Can you play First Person Lightning Roulette for free?

Despite there being no live dealer present in a real-life studio environment, it’s not possible to play First Person Lightning Roulette for free. As with other Evolution Gaming titles, you’re able to enter the game, navigate the interface and see how it all works before you play. And when you’re ready to play, bets begin at a low €0.50 meaning that you can go for a few spins without breaking the bank.

First Person Lightning Roulette Strategy & Tips

The roulette strategy you choose to adopt is undoubtedly affected by the Lightning Numbers and Lightning Multipliers you’ll find in this title. The Martingale and Fibonnaci systems that work on traditional betting layouts won’t work here if your goal is to reach greater returns.

Instead, the most talked about First Person Lightning Roulette strategy is to place a straight up bet on each number on the layout. By adopting this approach, you’ll be sure to obtain a win of at least 50x depending on the random multiplier that is assigned to the chosen Lucky Numbers. Despite the guaranteed wins of this approach, your wagers may not be profitable if it takes some time for any Lucky Payouts to hit. Alternatively, you could choose to bet on sections of the wheel such that you’ll cover a large area of the betting grid while keeping your cost per spin low. Do keep in mind that these risk-averse betting strategies may hinder you from receiving your winnings, especially if you’re betting with your bonus balance.

And remember, while this game also includes a recent numbers functionality, a previous round’s result is no indication of the next. Ultimately, always bet within your means and enjoy the game, no matter the playing style you choose to adopt.

The wheel

The First Person Lightning Roulette wheel resembles beautifully-designed TCSJOHNHUXLEY wheels. It features 37 red and black numbers on the wheel, from 0-36, while the turret in the centre is chrome and the circumference of the wheel is illuminated gold. Unfortunately, you won’t see the various close-ups of the wheel you’re shown in the live game.

The environment

Although it’s not a physical one, the environment of First Person Lightning Roulette still succeeds in being quite immersive. Naturally, it mimics its predecessor with black and gold luxe surroundings with enclosing columns that are all computer-generated. It’s pretty impressive but doesn’t truly hold a candle to the live version. It’s far more entertaining to watch the live dealer pull the lever and see the numbers electrify behind him or her.

Speaking of the game presenter, there isn’t one in this title. Instead your instructions are given by a computer-generated voice. It’s clear and easy-to-understand—especially when compared to presenters we’ve encountered in the past who had very thick accents—but the absence of two-way communication is felt.

What it looks like and how it works

Lastly let’s take a look at how you interact with the interface before moving on to what you can see and hear on your display.

Interface

Evolution First Person Lightning Roulette Interface

This title’s interface is adapted from their usual live dealer games and simplified to suit this RNG game.

Overall it’s much cleaner looking as the betting area appears directly on the digital felt alongside four buttons—Rebet & Spin, 2x Double & Spin, Go Live and Undo—which will be explained in just a moment. There’s also the Go Live button here which takes you straight from the RNG-based First Person game to its live dealer equivalent. You’re also able to view your current balance and your total bet from the base of the screen.

At the top left, you’ll see the game’s payouts table with the option to pin it in place. An overview of your account history, game information via the ? icon, audio settings and the ability to play in full screen are all found to the top right.

Functionality

As expected, this new title ran smoothly on our testing devices which include an HP laptop with a Wi-Fi 1GB download speed Internet connection and a OnePlus 6T.

You decide when betting time begins. To do so, simply press the chip you’d like to bet with—it’ll have a gold ring around it—and then press the unmissable green spin button. Note that if you select the wrong amount in error, there’s a red undo button available.

Once the round is complete and the result is shown, two buttons appear on screen—Rebet & Spin, 2x Double & Spin. The former repeats the bet you made in the previous round and immediately spins the wheel while the latter doubles the bet you made in the previous round and immediately spins the wheel.

Audio and Visuals

Unsurprisingly, Evolution kept the same soundtrack here which we’re glad to hear. It’s suspenseful, enticing and truly fitting with the ambience and style of this game. Drumming can be heard throughout and electric charges are audible when the Lucky Numbers are chosen. Every sound is crystal-clear but you’re still able to make out the dealer’s voice. If you prefer, you can mute these settings altogether via the speaker and cog icons on the interface.

This RNG game was developed with sophisticated 3D rendering and animation that delivers a riveting gaming experience. Even though it’s not live streamed, there are still a few angles of the game on show—both when the ball is spinning and when the game is idle. Unlike their other live dealer games, there are no viewing modes or quality settings to toggle between. This isn’t too noticeable as it’s playable on most Internet connections.

Mobile Vs. Desktop

First Person Lightning Roulette can be played on both PC and smartphone. It was developed and designed to suit any screen size and take full-advantage of modern devices’ capabilities. On mobile, you can bet on the game in either landscape or portrait mode as you prefer—the look and feel remains consistent.
