Evolution Gaming Auto Roulette has the clue in the name already. No dealer, fast gameplay and straight to the point efficiency – that is what’s being promised. One might be inclined to think this is an RNG game, a mere emulation of a beautiful roulette wheel. Far from it! This real roulette wheel might be engulfed in a virtual betting layout, but the auto-spin feature makes sure the game never stops going. Is this a real alternative to a regular red and black wheel? Find out at LiveCasino.com.
This casino game was initially reviewed in October 2017.
This roulette table sports a classic, however digital European roulette layout with a full top-down view and a clear race track. It’s immediately clear that the focus is on the betting table itself, no fuss with backdrops or a full-on casino environment. Although that’s not to say the roulette atmosphere is lost, quite the contrary – we really felt immersed and this table just oozes style in that way. The table itself is virtual, that much is apparent – but what’s interesting is, that the roulette wheel is actually a real and very likely pretty expensive one, with the betting layout rendered around it. That might sound odd, but we can assure you it just works, the amount of quality is astounding and definitely something to look out for here.
The numbers may appear slightly small on the wheel, however the dolly marker will indicate the winning number for you, should you have trouble with the numbers itself. A see-through dome with a suction tube that pulls the ball back from the pocket and into the track makes sure, that the name Auto Roulette is justified, making for very fluent gameplay. A nice touch we found are the casino chips, that appear next to the wheel, further adding to the stylish casino feel of the table. There really isn’t much of a backdrop, which again isn’t a bad thing at all, the game is the focus here and we love it. A lack of a dealer is of course also worth a mention, hence the “Auto” in the name.
Moving over to the interface. If you have played other Evolution games, you will be familiar with their standard interface. There is however a few key differences when it comes to the device used – let’s figure them out together, shall we?
The first thing that popped into our vision was the stream of winning players that shows up at the bottom left of your screen – in general the stats here are quite extensive. Other stats can be found at the top right, consisting of 3 pages. Hot and cold numbers, stats on the last 50-500 rounds and the last winning numbers. You can find the settings/options at the top right too, which is fairly stock standard. Buttons for repeat, undo etc. are present too and easily accessible at that. The top right of the screen is reserved for saving your favorite bets and special bets, the impression of a well thought out user interface can not be shaken off, Evolution has done a fairly good job with this.
When it comes to the smartphone version, we’re faced with a completely different experience. The betting surface fills up the entire screen, the racetrack however can be accessed via a button. You choose your betting chips via a scroll through strip, that however can be a bit fiddly since they are a bit small. Something to consider when having bigger hands or a smaller screen. The aforementioned options on desktop can not be found on either the smartphone or tablet. Your stats do appear on mobile, however limited – the 50-500 rounds screen is missing as well, further cementing the stripped-down feel of the mobile version, simplicity is a word that comes to mind. The game sound can be adjusted though, which is a nice touch. So is the status of betting times shown by a colored bar at the top of the screen, making it hard to miss the times. Overall we liked the mobile version, if you like to tweak your game and like your stats, this might not be for you.
There’s two sides to this whole device story. If you want the full experience, with stats and settings – play it on the desktop. You have a real casino feel, everything is just that much more immersive. If you don’t care about these things, the mobile is a good alternative. Whatever your choice may be, you definitely will feel the touch of Evolution, that much is clear.
One might be a little bit surprised when hearing a voice that announces certain things on a table that doesn’t have a dealer in the picture – but that’s exactly what you get with Evolution Gaming Auto Roulette. A robotic voice gives clear instructions, which could be a blessing or a curse, depending on your outlook. On the upside there were no sound problems, no chat and the focus is on the game, but if you’re intrigued by charming accents, that might be something to turn you off.
The casino sounds do unfortunately not do the actual atmosphere justice, they sound mechanical when the ball is sucked up and shot back onto the track. In the version for the big screen you’re able to adjust game sounds and the dealer’s voice though, so if that stuff is irritating you, you can turn it off. In general we found that the table is lacking in background music, therefore not really having that genuine casino feel. A missed opportunity!
The nice auto-zoom in during the spin is available only on desktop, however you can actually move the video around on the mobile, which is a nice touch. On mobile however, we found some visual issues with the stream – that might be the internet connection used to test the roulette table though. Should you have trouble with your streaming quality, it might be worth changing the quality from high to low.
We’ve seen very positive things with this table game – the focus is definitely on the game, with a genuine look, suited for players who want the core experience. We would love to see Evolution found a way to up the interaction-factor however. If you want to check this game out, you’re in luck – the stakes will suit many players and the game is available 24/7 due to its automatic nature. Check out updates on this one at LiveCasino.com.
