Self-branded as Danmarks bedste online casino, Tivoli has the heritage and reputation to back it up. Its partnership with Evolution Gaming sees this provider aim to uphold this, but how do the other parts of the site support this? Find out how this operator aims to reach the high standards Danes hold it to in our Tivoli casino review.
This casino was initially reviewed in November 2018.

Tivoli live casino is brought to Danish players by powerhouse provider, Evolution Gaming. They stock all the main varieties of their live dealer games including roulette (there’s a Dansk Roulette wheel too), blackjack, baccarat, poker and novelty titles such as Dream Catcher and Lightning Roulette. This area follows a similar structure to most in that the typical grid layout is present although it’s definitely chicer than most. There’s also a 1,000+ word overview to playing live casino online with a brief introduction to each type of game that is available and tips to familiarise yourself with the rules of each one before you wager. It’s nice that the effort was put in to include this perfect preface to our guide to casino games.
A nice touch to the 21.co.uk offering is the game information that complements it. While it’s not as detailed as our guide to casino games, it’s nice that they put the effort in to providing players with extra knowledge.
The Tivoli welcome offer is a deposit match offer with free spins that’s tailored to slot games. A live casino dedicated offer would be good to see down the line. Beyond this initial Tivoli bonus, campaigns including tournaments with cash prizes are yours to participate in and bonus code seem to be sent out regularly. These Tivoli promotions are featured on their own page, but unfortunately, at the time of writing, no table game specific campaigns were advertised. Hopefully, this will change soon.
At the time of review, no sort of Tivoli VIP programme was promoted on site which is rather disappointing considering their slogan. A simple reward system where every 1DKK wagered adds one loyalty point to players’ accounts would be easy to implement and encourage loyalty amongst its players. And with plenty of operators adopting such as the baseline of their VIP programme, it’s certainly something that should be looked into and implemented.
As witnesses of the grandeur of the theme park bearing the same name that attracted over 4.6 million visitors in 2017, we anticipated that the same attention to details would have been placed on their offering to remote gambling. With a black, gold and white colour scheme and a neat layout to match, Tivoli online casino certainly succeeds in embodying its heritage on first impression. At first sight, it seems as though they’ve taken the best bits of operators that came before them and added their own twist to it. Eager to confirm this, we loaded up our HP laptop and Huawei smartphone and began exploring.

Once your eyes adjust to the dark colour scheme of Tivoli.dk, you’ll begin to make out the familiarities. There’s the Open Account and Login buttons at the top, followed by a navigation bar that leads you to nine different parts of the site and a promotions banner advertising four current campaigns on a loop. A view of the latest winners and the hottest jackpots are also available, which is good to see at a glance.
Something that does differ from most other operators are the four small boxes that appear to the right of your display. Each snippet (which changes depending on your current page) divulges important information such as what the welcome bonus is, how to get started using the site and direct access to their responsible gambling area which we’ll cover in a few paragraphs from now. It’s a good use of what otherwise could have been empty space or unnecessarily filled with more game tiles. Unfortunately, this innovation does not extend to their Live Casino page which is rather plain in terms of visuals. As we said, the game tiles could do with some dressing up in terms of adding information to them.
The first thing that was noticeable about Tivoli mobile casino is that they make far better use of the limited space available on the smaller display. The Promotions bar is still visible however it doesn’t take up space which allows you to see jackpots and winners stream above the fold and the main menu is discreetly hidden behind the hamburger menu.
Most other parts and pages we touched on earlier have been adequately adjusted to suit the smaller screen size in a visually appealing way however the blue Live Chat button is obstructive on mobile. We’re a much less prominent Speech Bubble icon would prove to be just as intuitive.
With claims to being Denmark’s best, our expectations were high as we still like to have faith in honest self-promotion. That being said, as we looked at the site’s appearance, it loaded quickly and transitioned well from page to page but those are just the basics. So we kept our devices at hand to delve deeper into how it functions on both.
That navigation bar we mentioned earlier remains fixed as you move down any page. We mentioned this as a preference of ours a few reviews back and we’re happy to see another operator utilise this, especially as some of its pages are quite lengthy. A little further down from this you’ll see a Search bar which undoubtedly helps you get straight to what you’re looking for instead of scrolling through their 400+ games. Another thing that aids usability is the permanent fixture of access to their support team on the right of your screen. There have been quite a few operators where finding access to the customer care team has been a feat in itself so it’s nice to see this area of the site given such prominence without being intrusive.
Full disclosure – the mobile version of Tivoli.dk is pretty much identical in terms of functionality so there’s not too much to write home about. While the hamburger menu suffices in terms of aiding navigation, the addition of a thumb nav to take you to their main offerings would be more than welcome. It’s smooth but we hope to see their tech team inspire us (and other operators) with new innovations in the future.
As we were unable to find any mention of Tivoli apps for Apple and Android on site, we went to a support agent directly for answers. They confirmed that apps aren’t yet available but as we’ve seen the mobile website works fine so this will suffice for now.
This operator gives players three payment method options as shown in the table with the respective information associated with each shown too. We spoke with an agent on live chat who confirmed those minimum and maximum amounts and went on to advise that these limits do vary – per transactions, per day, per week and per month – as is common with most operators. For example, the maximum withdrawal per day is set to 250.000 kr. Their FAQ page answers common questions on this subject including step-by-step instructions on how to make a deposit, how to request a Tivoli withdrawal and clarification that all transactions are processed through their payment partner, Danske Bank.
Should you have any queries, you may contact this operator’s agents via an email form and instant chat on their site. The opening times of these channels are quite varied depending on the day of the week. This department is open from 09:00 – 21:00 on Monday to Friday and 10:00 – 18:00 throughout the weekend and on holidays. Tivoli live chat is accessible on reduced hours as shown in the table and while this is disappointing, the service we received was more than satisfactory. A FAQ area is also available however it’s not as detailed as others we’ve seen and given their reduced opening hours, it should definitely be far more comprehensive.

This operator desires to be one thing at a minimum and that is entertaining. Part and parcel of this is ensuring that the enjoyment derived from their games is done so in a sustainable way, which is where the Tivoli responsible gaming programme comes in. What impressed us from the get-go was the availability of four types of gaming limits instead of only a deposit one. We’d like to see more operators show such consideration to the differing betting habits of their players and implement to tools that support this. There’s also the ability to take a self-assessment test and close your account if you feel that’s for the best with plenty of information to direct you on the best course of action.
To support the practical measures you can place on your account, they also advertise the app MitSpil which offers a direct link to ROFUS, a registry with the Gambling Authority, which if signed up, excludes players from all Danish gaming sites.

We’ll get back to you as soon as we can but until then see how the 21.co.uk facts listed at the beginning compare to those of other casinos ahead of signing up anywhere.
