Landing on one of Portomaso Gaming’s live tables really is a treat for the avid casino player. If you’re mostly used to studio environments when playing live dealer games, you will definitely need to rethink, because this provider offers a neat little selection of tables, streamed directly from their location in Malta. You will see other tables in the background and that definitely helps to create a unique atmosphere, immersing you in the game even further!
Let’s start with their selection of games. Portomaso live casino features a neat little library of table games, such as their bespoke Portomaso Classic Roulette. The usual suspects like Blackjack, Poker and other variants can’t be found here, so really you’re a little stuck for choice here – if that’s what matters to you. This provider is mainly focussed on classic roulette action however, that’s something definitely worth mentioning.
A HD stream delivered with neat angles makes for a pretty good experience too, so the aforementioned action feels quite real. Some variants like the Oracle Roulette or their automatic version add a little bit of spice to the mix, which is definitely appreciated. We took a liking especially to the Oracle Roulette though, since they stream directly from another casino in Qawra, Malta – awesome!
A variant of baccarat, this card game is a contest between two hands, you’ll find yourself shoulder to shoulder with real players. With different stakes from high to low you can choose from, you bet on ‘Player’, ‘Bank’ or ‘Tie’ as the game goes on. The table is custom-built, which we liked a lot. The cards are bar-coded and the results of any game are displayed in real time. What’s not to love? If you like baccarat, give Punto Banco a shot!
As mentioned above, Portomaso offers a neat little game called Punto Banco that has a dedicated high-stakes table, for high-rollers that do like the risk/reward playstyle. They do supply the player base interested in their live casino games with the same treatment when it comes to roulette though, which is always appreciated. You can bet from low to high (chip values range from €5 up to €1,000, depending on the operator) as you you please and playing with higher stakes really works on these tables especially.
The mostly female croupiers of this classy operator are all well dressed and quite charming really. These tables are dedicated to delivering a good time and the dealers certainly show that. Engaging in chats just as much as dominating the experience of playing the game, we really felt that they were giving it their all and they give out a good vibe. Are they good at what they do though, you might be thinking? Yes. Yes, indeed they are and then some!
As already mentioned, Portomaso is first and foremost a land-based location and boy does it pay off! There is really nothing quite like having a stream straight from an actual casino, if that makes sense. The tables are really quite something and the feel you get from these streams is hard to deny, especially if you love casino like we do. The atmosphere is what ties the whole picture together, Portomaso did a great job here.
Right off the bat; Portomaso Gaming titles can be played on your smartphone as well as any desktop device you might own. That’s good news, since our busy lifestyles really shouldn’t mean we can’t play live table games on the go. We couldn’t really tell if more love went into the mobile version vs the desktop, or vice versa – to be honest the games were pretty sweet whatever electronic device you use to play.
If we needed to nail down one thing in our Portomaso Gaming review, it would be that this provider needs to give their UI and the overall visuals some love. The navigation feels a little clunky and overall the feel isn’t particularly pretty to look at, when comparing it to say the user interface Evolution Gaming offers. Don’t get us wrong, the UI certainly is functional, with chat buttons, lobby access etc. visible and accessible – but we feel some improvements could go a long way here.
As previously mentioned in our Portomaso Gaming review, when opening up one of the roulette tables for example, you’re asked to choose a camera angle that suits your play. Choose from either the full table mode or the classic mode, which will give you more game stats but don’t show you the table all the time, in case of their Portomaso Classic Roulette for example. The angle can be toggled whenever you want, which is quite fluid – we liked that a lot. We touched upon the possible improvements on the user interface and with that comes the fact, that functionality isn’t the most intuitive out there. Some minor adjustments aside however, we did like what this provider is doing here.
