The tables and environment

On entry to Baccarat Control Squeeze, you’ll witness a close-view of the plush studio. A gold betting layout with a faint pattern, enclosed in a dark wood border, fills the lower half of the stream. It’s like the traditional bean-shaped ones you’d find in Macau with an area for the player on the left and one for the banker to the right. What’s distinct here are two glass panels that appear above each section’s white text. These inlays house cameras that allow you to control the sneak peek of the cards. On the host’s right side there’s the dispenser and on the opposite side is the deposit box. The betting table where you wager is a virtual blue, green and red layout.

A large screen with dark borders and a warm glow peeping through are the background of this table. It features an intricate pattern that’s evocative of prominent Asian casinos. Silk trees with pink and red blossoms frame your welcoming dealer. She sits in a maroon chair in the centre, wearing a fitted red dress and guides the game with conventional gestures. No other tables are in sight, complementing the cordial feeling of the surroundings.

Interface and user experience

Despite the diverse aspects of this live card game, Evolution Gaming managed to create a clean, coordinated environment. Each round begins with a wide-angle view. The user interface is split in two: the majority shows the stream while the base features a digitally-rendered layout. This area is not only a place to wager but it can also show how other players bet as well as available side bets and their payouts. Betting time begins with around 15 seconds for you to wager on player, banker or tie, from the chips found below the digital table. Place Your Bets and other prompts are present either at the top of the betting table or video to indicate this. The unique glass panels are projected to the left and right of the screen, both on the player’s and banker’s side. It’s the optical filters and the built-in overlay that allow players to divulge the cards themselves, in a 15-second timeframe. Once the time’s up, the virtual surface replicates the actual one and a blue or red banner appears in the centre to announce a player or banker win, respectively.

Game features can be found at the top right and base of your display. On the right, you’ll find the usual controls to adjust video, audio, the stats background colour and other settings via their own button or the cog icon. There’s also access a detailed description on how to play Live Baccarat Control Squeeze behind the ? icon. Live dealer chat is available via the speech bubble button or to the bottom left. On smartphones, these settings can be found behind the menu bar. Scorecards showing statistical trends and the Bead, Big, Big Eye, Small and Cockroach roads can be seen to the left and right-hand side. Thorough information on how these are derived can be found by clicking or tapping the ? icon.

This table looks top-notch on desktop. The numerous elements of the game are suited to larger displays, especially ones with a high screen resolution. Controls for settings can be found at the top right whereas the roads appear at the bottom. Novice players may benefit from a view of the game’s bets and their payouts if they click over the game name to the right. Overall, things slot in together quite well.

Unfortunately, mobile Baccarat Control Squeeze was somewhat disappointing. The virtual area looks cluttered while the stream is quite small. It becomes even more crowded during the reveal time when the digital cards are shown on either side. These flaws are especially prominent in landscape mode as the digital table essentially covers most of the action. As usual, settings, chat and more may be accessed via the menu icon, either at the base or to the right the game window.

As with other casino tables we’ve considered so far, our preference is skewed towards bigger screens. We believe that all the digital elements fit better, and are far clearer, on desktop devices. There’s simply too much going on mobile such that this provider loses its touch. If you’ve got an LED TV in your living room, we suggest that you project the game to it for a truly immersive experience!

Audio and visuals

Audio quality is paramount at such an engaging table, and we can tell Evolution Gaming spared no expense here. Upon loading, you’ll notice that the sound is precise enough to hear every card movement as well as neighbouring tables without causing any distraction.

Your dealer’s calm voice leads the game as she announces the betting time and wishes you luck before allowing you some time to peel back the cards. She also states the total of each hand as she turns them over. If any of the players communicate by chat, the croupier addresses them by their login name and any in-game announcements are made here. As with other Evolution tables, you’re able to control the volume of the dealer’s voice and game sounds via the cog icon or the menu button.

Equally as essential are the high-definition cameras that capture every mesmerising part of the game. It starts with a wide-angle view of the host and table. The cards are then placed over their specific glass inlay with two built-in cameras beneath these. Optical filters hide their faces until you click or tap on an edge to draw back the overlay and show the card value.

Overall, there are fewer cameras angles here but the option to switch between multi-camera or classic view is still available to you. Four video quality options – HD, high, medium and low – are also usable. We played the game in HD, both on an HP laptop as well as a One Plus 3T and witnessed a splendid stream with no lagging. We’re sure you’ll encounter the same with a stable internet connection.
